Privacy Policy
Auralense is a financial operating system for independent businesses. To do that work, we handle some of the most sensitive information a business has: its money, its obligations, and its records. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. We have written it to be read, not skimmed past.
This policy applies to the Auralense platform at myauralense.com and app.myauralense.com (the "Platform"), operated by Auralense, Inc. ("Auralense," "we," "us"). It does not apply to the independent advisors, financial institutions, or third-party services you choose to connect, each of which maintains its own privacy practices.
Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: information you give us, information we receive from services you connect, and information generated automatically as you use the Platform.
Information you provide
- Account and identity data. Your name, email address, business name, entity type, ownership profile, and the role you select when you join.
- Business and compliance data. Entity formation details, jurisdictions you operate in, filing and tax obligations, certification eligibility information (such as MBE, WBE, or SBA profiles), and the documents and records you store in the Back-Office Hub.
- Financial data you enter. Self-reported balances, receivables, liabilities, property, and other figures you add to your Dashboard.
- Communications. Messages you send us, founding-member application responses, and feedback you share.
Information from connected services
When you link a financial account, accounting tool, or other service, we receive data through that integration to power your Dashboard and Obligations engine. This may include account balances, transactions, receivables, and account metadata. We receive this data only after you authorize the connection, and only to the extent the integration grants.
Information collected automatically
Like most platforms, we record technical and usage data: device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, features used, and timestamps. Cookies and similar technologies are covered in our Cookie Policy.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to run the Platform, not to profile you for unrelated purposes. Specifically, we use it to:
- Provide and operate your Dashboard, Obligations engine, Certification Hub, Back-Office Hub, and Growth Network access.
- Calculate your readiness score, surface upcoming deadlines, and identify certifications and programs you may qualify for.
- Connect you with independent advisors in the Growth Network when you choose to engage them.
- Maintain security, prevent fraud, and protect the integrity of the Platform.
- Communicate with you about your account, service updates, and support requests.
- Improve our features and develop new ones, using aggregated or de-identified data wherever possible.
- Comply with our own legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your financial or compliance data with third parties for their own marketing.
How We Share Information
We share information only in the limited circumstances below, and only as needed:
- With service providers who help us operate the Platform (such as cloud hosting, financial-data connectivity, and analytics), bound by contracts that restrict their use of your data to providing services to us.
- With advisors you choose to engage through the Growth Network, sharing only the information needed for that engagement and only with your direction.
- For legal reasons, when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Auralense, our users, or the public.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or financing, in which case we will notify you and this policy will continue to govern your information.
Third-Party Integrations
The Platform is designed to connect with services you already use, including financial-data aggregators that link your bank and financial accounts, accounting tools such as QuickBooks, and payment processors. These connections are optional and initiated by you.
When you authorize an integration, you also agree to that provider's terms and privacy practices for the data they handle on their side. We encourage you to review them. You can disconnect an integration at any time from your account settings; doing so stops future data sharing through that connection, though it does not delete data already received.
Data Security and Retention
We protect your information with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of financial data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and ongoing monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we treat the protection of your data as foundational to what we do.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform. After you close your account, we retain limited information where required for legal, tax, accounting, or legitimate business purposes, then delete or de-identify it.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal information:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and how it is used.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Port a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Auralense does not sell personal information.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the Platform.
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any right, contact us at privacy@myauralense.com. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. California residents may also designate an authorized agent to act on their behalf.
Financial Privacy Notice
Because Auralense handles nonpublic personal financial information, we treat that data with the heightened care expected of financial services. We collect it only to deliver the Platform's features, we do not disclose it to nonaffiliated third parties for their own marketing, and we limit access to personnel and service providers who need it to do their work. If our practices ever change in a way that affects how your financial information is shared, we will notify you and, where required, give you the opportunity to opt out before the change takes effect.
International Users
Auralense is operated from the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place for international transfers.
Children's Privacy
The Platform is built for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Platform evolves or as laws change. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Platform or by email. Your continued use of Auralense after an update means you accept the revised policy.
